KARYOTYPE EVOLUTION OF SUBORDER RUMINANTIA

Suborder Ruminantia is the largest taxa in order Cetartiodactyla and includes species with great differences in morphology and diploid numbers of chromosomes.
To date the main chromosome changes that formed karyotypes of modern species of this suborder were described by comparative chromosome painting. This paper
provides a brief review of features of evolution of Ruminantia karyotypes.
