For the Maximowicz's vole Microtus maximowiczii the numeration of chromosomes which can be use for the description of karyotypes of various chromosomal forms from different geographical regions was proposed. Application of FISH analysis has allowed us to show homology of Robersonian rearregement (11/20) in karyotypes of vole from Transbaikalia (2n = 41) and vole from the Norsky reservation in Amur Region (2n = 40).

Key words:  Microtus maximowiczii, Maximowicz's vole, chromosomes, variability
